About our old Temple

The original Ramalayam was built more than 90 years ago in Lankala Kalavagunta village in Pedana Mandal, Krishna District of Andhra Pradesh. Local families visited the alayam for daily puja and festivals. Sri Rama Navami festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm and devotion and became an annual tradition.

Over time, Ramalyam deteriorated as it was situated very adjacent to the main road and as the main road level of the village was raised time to time with new layers and the mandapam floor level become much lower than the adjacent road level. Ramalyam mandapam was frequently submerged by rain water. It was decided to build Ramalayam at some other place in the village away from the main road and at a higher level.
